Join us at 7pm on Thursday, May 30 for an entertaining and downright silly presentation from Dr. Joel Keller! “Novelty Songs” are quite different than “Pop Music Songs.” Although this statement is certainly true, there are many Novelty Songs that have crossed over into the Pop Music category. This program will examine the Novelty Song category and after sharing some information about the artist(s) and history of the music and where possible, most of the song will be played. There are 16 songs in this presentation, including “Mairzy Dotes and Dozy Dotes,” “Beep Beep,” “The Purple People Eater” and “My Ding-a-Ling.”
