Squish, stretch, and shape Play-Doh in a variety of open-ended play activities. Designed for ages 3-8. All supplies are provided.

The Friends of the Amherst Public Library annual free document shredding event will take place in the library parking lot on Saturday, July 12 from 9am - 12pm (or until the truck is full). There is a limit of five boxes or bags per vehicle.

Splatter, splash, and spray! Dress for a mess and come prepared to make art with paint and a variety of tools and techniques. Designed for children of all ages. 

Just for summer! Stories, songs, and rhymes for children 2 - 6 years old and their caregivers every Monday at 10:30am in June and July.

Want to go on a magical adventure this summer, just like Jack and Annie? Read (or re-read) the Magic Tree House books and come to the library for special themed activities.

The Amherst Public Library’s Board of Trustees meet in the library’s DeLloyd Room on the second Monday of the month at 5:45 pm.  The public is welcome to attend.

Get ready for a sleepytime adventure with Bluey and Bingo! Dress up in your coziest pajamas and join us for a reading of one of Bluey’s most famous bedtime stories, along with some songs and activities inspired by the famous heeler puppy!

Build a support system with people who understand. Alzheimer’s Association® support groups, conducted by trained facilitators, are a safe place for people living with dementia and their care partners to:

Library Time is an adapted storytime for adults with intellectual disabilities. The program is focused on literacy, music and movement, and social interaction.  

Drop in the second-floor lobby every Wednesday, June 11 through July 23, from 2pm - 5pm for our Summer Craft Days! We’ll provide everything kids need to make a fun craft!

The Friends of the Amherst Public Library sponsor an evening book group that meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7pm. 

Join us every Thursday from July 17 through August 21 at 10:30am for Tai Chi for Balance and Fall Prevention with special guest Mary Cordray.

Join us on Monday, July 14 at 6:30pm or on Thursday, July 17 at 2:30pm for a relaxing adult craft! All supplies will be provided for each registered attendee to make and take home two suncatchers using wood rings and basic macrame techniques.

Bring your 18” dolls to the library and create a cozy sleeping bag for your doll to use! All supplies will be provided for
each child to make one sleeping bag. Designed for kids ages 5 - 12. Kids under the age of 10 must have a caregiver

Come and relax at the library with some light snacks and a fun art project! Complete a paint-by-number kit and enjoy snacks and beverages as you paint.
